Fans of the annual Modern Home Tour, you have another opportunity to check out some interesting Austin homes with the upcoming Smarter Spaces Tour. Produced by the same tour organizers as the MHT, this year’s Smarter Spaces Tour will be held Saturday, September 7th from 11-5.  Here’s a peek at what I’m looking forward to seeing up close and personal…
You had me at yellow door:
So digging the exterior color banding and the Southern style aqua blue porch ceiling of this home by CG&S. I also envy the solar panels, the layered landscaping and the cute garage apartment.
What the what? So curious about this ceiling lighting treatment in this Barley-Pfeiffer Architects apartment remodel near UT. I’ve worked with two clients in this building, so it’ll be interesting to see how someone else handles the space.
Don’t you just love the mid-century balconies on this building? Not a bad view, either!
Want to WIN a pair of tickets to this tour? In honor of Newcastle’s bright yellow door (applause!) leave a comment below and tell me what color you’d paint your front door if you didn’t have to worry about what your neighbors or the pesky HOA would say. I’ll announce a winner this Friday!
Bright red! I’ve always loved red doors!
I would loved a turquoise, sort of batiqued looking, front door. Simple, rustic, wards off bad juju, could be found on any continent in various styles of homes.
Hot pink! Oh, wait! I have one of those!
Do you really, Lana? I would kill for a hot pink door. I also love love love a turquoise door & you can’t go wrong w/red. Usually 🙂
Purple. Duh.
Lol, Michelann 🙂
I’m really digging a pale aqua blue for front doors lately!!
If I weren’t in Austin I’d do a burnt orange door.
Glitter red — just like sugar circus bakery
Purple!!!
Chartreuse. Yes.
So hard to choose just one…I think I would design my home’s exterior with a neutral facade so I could change up the door color on a seasonal basis or whenever the mood strikes. Starting with a warm toasty pumpkin hue for fall!
