This Lakeway, TX living room featured an impressive fireplace and plenty of room for media storage, but the design-savvy couple’s existing bookshelves were dwarfed by the ceiling height and didn’t reflect their personal style.

Custom built-ins designed by Room Fu create a sense of depth the space was lacking before, and accentuate the beautiful fireplace without competing with it.

A pair of sconces in the niches surrounding the fireplace add ambiance and fill some of the immense vertical space. Under-cabinet lighting adds a bit of drama.

Oversized lattice-style cabinet doors add architectural detail that is classic and timeless.

Arranging books by color on the new floating shelves reduces visual clutter.
