This year’s East Austin Studio Tour wrapped up yesterday with another gorgeous sky and California-style temperatures–perfect for getting out and about. And all of those Formula 1 crowds everyone was crowing about? Never saw ’em. So thanks to the event planners, who managed to divert that crap around to other parts of Austin so that the tour wasn’t affected!
The first stop I made that really blew me away was at Perch Co-Working, where Melissa Borrell was showing her unique jewelry. I could have gone home with any (or all) of it and have been ecstatic, but my pre-Christmas budget limited me to one self-indulgent purchase. Her Pop-Out designs feature very delicate imagery laser cut out of metal, that you pop out of a small card and hang from the earring hooks or chain provided.

My next stop was another fave–Erin Elizabeth Curtis had her intricately patterned paintings hung in the dining area of her superunique home, which was a work of art in and of itself.
