We’re still on vacation, we Callans…and happily so.  Last week we stopped in Colorado Springs so we could take our little Christmas fanatic to the North Pole, where I promptly made a total fool of myself screaming like a banshee on the Tilt-a-Whirl.

I blame it on the altitude.

Although I’ve never liked roller coasters, I don’t remember the Tilt-a-Whirl being too much for me.  Today I lost my stomach while swinging on a playground swing with Phoebe, so I SWEAR it’s the altitude playing tricks on my motion sensors and popping them into overdrive.  Right?

It was a pretty cute place though, and I highly recommend going during the school year if you can possibly swing that.  There were no lines anywhere and Phoebe was able to immediately ride anything she liked again and again.  A peek:

There were tons more rides but we didn’t get the camera out as often as I thought…

Another day, we walked our legs off all over the Garden of the Gods.  The natural beauty of this area held far less appeal for Phoebe than did the North Pole until we crossed paths with “real cowboys.”  (Staff from the neighboring stables.)  We really dug it though, for obvious reasons:
