Many, many thanks to Suzi Q. Varin of Q Weddings for doing such a beautiful job photographing our Guest Room Giveaway makeover at Neesha D.’s! Photography is such a key element for an interior designer–without gorgeous imagery of your work, you’re not likely to be hired. Although Suzi’s primarily known for her wedding photography, she’s also shot a lot for cookbooks and she’s responsible for all of the best photos in Room Fu’s online portfolio.
Suzi and I first met when she shot me for CRAVE Austin: The Urban Girl’s Manifesto several years ago. Up to that point, I’d been renting light kits and doing my own “after” photography, but one look at Suzi’s photos and I knew I wasn’t doing myself any favors by DIY-ing my portfolio photography. Since then, Suzi’s shot a ton of our clients’ homes and captured so many details beautifully. We’re forever indebted to her for her stunning work! Take a look at some of our favorite Suzi Shots from our portfolio:
When it comes to Suzi’s wedding photography, I’m looking through her online portfolio and I want to show you EVERY. DAMN. PICTURE. She just has this way of saturating every photo with emotion and quiet beauty. I wish I had known her when Jeb and I got married. Her pictures make me yearn. It’s not enough for a wedding photographer to document the milestones of a wedding ceremony–and these days, few brides want canned group photos. Suzi’s work is so editorial and goes beyond standard. She’s a true artist. Here’s a killer sampling:
An avid foodie, Suzi takes the most stunning pictures of the food at wedding receptions. You can see why she’s in high demand for cookbooks.

I’m such a fan, I could go on and on. For the sake of blogging time, I urge you to daydream while perusing all of the eye candy on the Q Weddings website. If you’re in the market for a photographer who understands how to capture color, texture, composition, design, emotion and place, you’ve found your girl!
