For the third time in a week, I’ve seen a local business highlighted on CNN, two of which are home-related. Apparently the spotlight is shining on our fair city due to its ability to ride out the economic you-know-what-storm hitting the rest of the country mighty hard. Flip Happy Crepes pioneered a huge trend in Austin, serving handmade crepes from an Airstream trailer. Since their business was so successful, many followed their lead and opened food trailers of their own. Now you can get everything from cupcakes, gourmet donuts, and cake balls to Vietnamese food, Turkish kebabs, and “farm-to-trailer” fare here in the capitol city.
