I couldn’t resist picking up the May 2013 issue of HGTV Magazine, since it promised “bright & cheery” rooms and “COLOR COLOR COLOR.” I wouldn’t say it rocked my world as much as Adore–the Australian online home decor mag I profiled a few weeks ago–but there were plenty of features that were visually appealing. What this magazine seems to do best is to showcase their on-air talent in personalized decorating situations, like photographing Design Star judge Vern Yip in the bedrooms he designed for his two kids:
…or the living room Sabrina Soto fleshed out for her mom:
I’m also dying over this adorable, pale turquoise kitchen they featured from this year’s HGTV Smart Home in Jacksonville, Florida–which you can enter to win!
Loving this Palm Springs inspired backyard, with its black and white striped window awnings, pillows and outdoor umbrella, bright pink outdoor beanbags, and preppy topiaries:
Everyone struggling to decorate their home on a tight budget will appreciate this article on how to create low-cost DIY curtains and curtain rods:
While pinning from this issue, I really went a little nuts over everything at Lulu & Georgia–my new fave online store:
Everything on the site is carefully curated and totally drool-worthy. Be sure and check all of that out on Pinterest, because you won’t want to miss it!
Come back each week for Magazine Monday, where we feature what’s hot from your favorite home decor magazines and then pin the crap out of them!
