Ahh, the many personalities of HGTV Design Star Season 7 finalist Luca Paganico…don’t let that boring-as-hell Mr. Rogers cast photo above fool you.
He could be one of HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins:

At left: Luca Paganico, Design Star Season 7 finalist. At right: John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino are HGTV's Kitchen Cousins.
Or a Zen prepster model turned anchorman:
He could hang with DS Season 4 winner, Antonio Ballatore (for the full effect, check out this video):

Then there’s this ticky-tack Vegas-inspired bedroom:
…this amateurish mish-mash of art:
This ill-advised use of tile to turn a toilet into a focal point:
And this hideous room, which looks more like a “before” than an “after.”
While Luca may not be able to rely upon an airbrush throughout the competition, he has the potential to pull some amazing art out of his ass throughout the competition. I’m not a fan of the goth and gore subject matter, but he’s clearly a talented artist. Let’s just say I don’t expect him to bust out with the type of squiggly “line looks” that Season 5 bitch rammed down our eyeballs. Maybe he’ll be crafty with some custom lighting designs too? Between these talents and his chameleon-like, model-worthy good looks, Luca seems like someone HGTV’s PR department would drool over. And more than a few viewers as well.
HGTV’s seventh season of Design Star premieres Tuesday, May 29th. Stay tuned to Fu For Thought for another year of episodic critiques throughout the season!
