During our first tour of Carrie and Jay’s beautiful Westlake home, Carried referred to their formal living room as “the drankin’ room.” The busy couple had just moved in and wanted a place to escape the kids and enjoy quiet cocktails at the end of the day. There were already some furnishings we could use in the space…a gorgeous rug, a pair of navy blue velvet chairs, and the window treatments worked. We just needed to flesh out the rest of the room.
After
First things first, any drankin’ room worth its salt (rim) needs a proper devan to lounge on, and we knew this deep, purple tufted loveseat was The One the moment we laid eyes on it. A modern, brushed brass and marble cocktail table is the perfect companion piece, and album cover art adds just the right ambiance.
A collection of vintage political buttons makes great art, too.
Decorative pillows tie the room together and feature navy, metallic gold and purple in agate and ikat designs.
